Jonathan is a member of ReavesColey’s Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group. He counsels both public and private companies on matters ranging from day-to-day corporate matters to complex mergers and acquisitions, securities, private placements, and venture capital work. Jonathan’s practice includes advising sponsors, investors, and companies on merger and acquisition transactions, corporate governance, antitrust matters, preferred equity investments, capital restructurings, and debt and equity work-outs. Jonathan assists entrepreneurs with business formation, fundraising, compensation issues, securities, commercialization, mergers and acquisitions, and other matters pertinent to emerging businesses.
Prior to practicing law, Jonathan spent more than a decade investing in, operating, and advising a wide range of both domestic and international businesses. As a result of his business experience, Jonathan regularly provides business advisory and consulting services that provide tangible benefits and value to his clients. Prior to joining ReavesColey, he worked for a leading Virginia business law firm in the area of mergers & acquisitions. Jonathan brings the perspective of a business owner to his transactional practice – he started his professional career working in his family-held business – a national jewelry retailer.
